Obituary of Ida E. Siarkowski

Ida E. Siarkowski 90, of John Street, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on Feb. 24, 1915, the daughter of Anthony and Mary Barkauskas Nagiones, she lived here her entire life and was educated here. Ida was employed by Bigelow Sanford Carpet Company as a twister and later by Mohasco. She retired in 1990 from Esquire Novelty. Ida was a member of the former American Lithuanian Club Auxiliary and was a lifelong communicant of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church as well as a member of the Living Rosary Society. Her beloved husband, John L. Siarkowski, whom she married on June 29, 1941, predeceased her on Oct. 21, 2003. Her loving family includes her daughter, Arlene and her husband Ronald Sinatra of Hagaman; her grandchildren; James and his wife Christine Bottisti, Sheree A. Kretser and her husband Richard, and Margaret Heitkamp and her husband Thomas; her sisters in law; Frances Nagiones and Grace Siarkowski; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Ida was predeceased by a sister, Julia Cole and a brother, Anthony Nagiones. Services are Thursday at 8:45 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Casimir?s Church with Fr. Stanley J. Swierzowski, celebrant. Interment is in St. Casimir?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Casimir?s Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
