Obituary of Margaret Dick

Margaret Dick, 94, former resident of Touareuna Road, Town of Glenville, New York, died Sunday afternoon at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam where she has resided for the past five years. Born in Amsterdam, New York on September 18, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Gottlieb and Anna Lembke Seigle. She was a life long area resident and attended local schools. Margaret was employed by Mohawk Carpet Mills in Amsterdam for thirteen years until retiring in 1941. She was a volunteer for the Schenectady County Extension, member and past matron of the Art-Well Chapter # 208 Order of the Eastern Star in Amsterdam, at one time was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cub Scout Troop, Pack 60, election inspector for over thirty years for Schenectady County, Treasurer of the Green Corners School District #5 for seventeen years in the Town of Glenville, former member of the Hagaman Seniors and she was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. She was married on September 9, 1939 to Edward Dick, who died January 11, 2005. Survivors include three sons; Larry Hastings of California, Allen Dick of Oneonta, New York and James Dick of Ashburnham, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York with the Rev. Elaine Berg officiating. Page 2 Dick Obituary Burial will take place in West Glenville Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Artwel-Otsquato Order of the Eastern Star will hold a service at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
