Obituary of Gerald R. Ambridge

Mr. Gerald R. Ambridge, age 55 of Gloversville, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a short illness. He was born March 23, 1950 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Richard Ambridge and Leila Wells Ambridge. He was educated in Gloversville schools, and worked most of his life at various leather finishing firms in the Fulton County area. At the time of his death, he and his wife Dawn were the co-owners of Glen´s Tavern in Gloversville. Gerald was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider. He was a member of the Johnstown Eagles Aerie. Gerald is survived by his wife, Dawn Mosher Richardson Ambridge of Gloversville, whom he married on August 25, 2001; his mother, Leila Wells of Conway, SC; two daughters, Tammy Tesiero and her husband Jay Tesiero of Johnstown and Jennifer Ambridge of Mayfield; two stepchildren, Jeffrey Richardson of Merritt Island, FL and CandiJo Richardson of Gloversville; a brother, Thomas Ambridge of Loris, SC; a sister, Diana Carrese of Gloversville; and two grandchildren, Brookelynn Richardson and Jacob Richardson of Gloversville. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Ambridge. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday with the Rev. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment with Balloon Release will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Toys for Tots.
