Obituary of Blanche L. Hajczewski

Blanche L. Hajczewski, 77, of Brookmans Corners Rd., Ft. Plain., passed away Thursday October 27, 2005 at her home. Born in Little Falls, NY on May 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Piniaha Yestremski. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Hajczewski was the owner and operator along with her husband of the Hallsville Farm Supply in Hallsville, NY. She also was very active in her son?s floral business Don?s Green House also in Hallsville where she worked for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting, traveling and vacationing with her family in their Winnebago. She was well known for her Polish cooking and was a C.B. Radio enthusiast. She was a member of the Mid-county Volunteer Ambulance where she served as a dispatcher for many years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Ft. Plain. She was married to John Hajczewski Jr. on October 18, 1947, he died on February 5, 1996. She is survived by one son, Thomas J. Hajczewski and his wife Lori of Ft. Plain; one daughter, Kitty Hajczewski of Ft. Plain; one brother- Thomas Yestremski of St. Johnsville, NY; three sisters, Mary Gartner of Little Falls, NY, Carolyn Edwards of Herkimer, NY, and Katherine Roginski of Mohawk, NY; three grandchildren, Mark Hajczewski and his wife Stayce, David Hajczewski, and Jill Barrett and her husband Evans; four great-grandchildren, Casey Hajczewski, Riley Hajczewski, Jonathan Hajczewski and Annalice Barrett. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by two sons, John Hajczewski III on March 25, 1996 and Donald J. Hajczewski on November 5, 1994; a great grandson, Cody Hajczewski; three sisters, Gertrude Nellis, Estella Matis and Veronica Ostacz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 29, 2005 at 2:00P.M. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY with Father John Roos presiding. Interment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Frey?s Bush Methodist Church or to the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department c/o the Funeral Home.
