Obituary of Angeline Petrucci

Mrs. Angeline Petrucci, 85, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away October 12, 2005 at Cape Coral Hospital in Florida after a brief illness. Born June 5, 1920 in Pisciotta, Italy she was the daughter of the late Guiseppi and Rosalie Pirfo Agresta. Mrs. Petrucci emigrated from Italy with her family and settled in Amsterdam where she attended local schools. Mrs. Petrucci attended Union College and the State University of New York at Albany where she graduated in 1964. She then was employed as a teacher for the Greater Amsterdam School District until her retirement in 1982. After her retirement, Mrs. Petrucci moved to Florida. Mrs. Petrucci was a member of the New York State Teachers Association, the Amsterdam Teachers Association, the Ladies Auxiliary of the St. Agnello Club and the Women?s Club of Hollywood, Florida. She was also a communicant of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, in Schenectady. Mrs. Petrucci married her husband Cosmo October 9, 1941; they resided in Schenectady. Cosmo predeceased Angeline in1963. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Peter Petrucci and his wife Rebecca of Arlington, VA and Anthony Petrucci and his wife Linda of Cape Coral, FL; one sister, Jean Davey, one brother, Frank Agresta and his wife Arlene, six grandchildren, Aubrey, Elaina, Amy, Alyson, Paul and Jessica; one great grandchild, Luke; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Petrucci was also predeceased by three sisters, Christine Fariello, Sophie Lathers, Carmella Marcellino; and four brothers, Anthony, Vito, Daniel and Michael Agresta. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday morning at 8:15a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Grove Street, with the Rev. Lawrence J. Decker as celebrant. Internment will take place in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 until 7 at the funeral home.
