Obituary of Barbara A. Vertucci

Barbara A. Vertucci, 52, of Mohawk Drive, Fonda, died Thursday evening at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born October 31, 1952 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of John Rajter and the late Helen Herodzinski Rajter. She was a life-long area resident and was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School class of 1970 Barbara was employed as a teacher?s assistant for the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Tribes Hill, New York. Barbara loved spending time with her family and she was very dedicated to working with the students and the staff at the Fonda-Fultonville Central School. She enjoyed making crafts and baking. On August 17, 1974, she married David J. Vertucci. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Nathan D. Vertucci of Fonda; a daughter, Kelly V. DiNatale and her husband Domenic of Amsterdam; her father, John Rajter; three brothers, Stanley Rajter of Fonda, Alex Rajter of Fort Johnston, and John Rajter of Tribes Hill; three sisters, Christine Rajter of Hollywood, Florida, Mary Rajter and Lucy Abele, both of Tribes Hill, New York and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2005 at 9:00 AM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville followed by a mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Third Avenue, Tribes Hill, New York with the Rev. Patrick Gallagher and Rev. Kevin Kenney as celebrants. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, New York. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. A Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held that day at 5:45 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara?s memory to the St. Jude?s Children?s Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
