Obituary of Marian H. Perryman

Marian H. Perryman, 84, of Wren St., Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday, July 5th, 2005 at Park Hill Adult Home in Amsterdam, NY. Born in South Valley, NY on November 24, 1920 a daughter of Reuben and Inez Bouck Hagarbome. She lived in Palatine Bridge and the Canajoharie, NY area for a time and attended Canajoharie schools. She also lived for a time with her husband and family in Paris, France, Arlington, VA and Miami and Tampa, Florida. Her husband served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at various locations. She was employed for many years by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Florida before retiring in 1982. She came to the Amsterdam area in 1987 from Florida. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, she also was an usher at the Theatre Institute in Troy. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam and was an Elder and very active in the church and also taught the Adult Sunday School. She married James Robert Perryman on February 6, 1942; he passed away on March 5, 1974. Survivors include three sons, Larry Perryman of Denver, CO, Robert Perryman of Greensboro, N.C., and James Perryman of Alabama; one daughter, Sandra L. Crofts of Amsterdam; two sisters predeceased her: Audrey Brundage of St. Johnsville and Gertrude Hall of Fort Plain; one brother, William Hagarbome of New Lenox, IL; four sisters, Melissa Nalli of Fort Plain, Betty Harden of Amsterdam, Inez Davenport of Sharon Springs, NY and Carol Lee Hall of Oak Lawn, IL; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, also nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 7th, 2005 at 11:00AM at the United Presbyterian Church, Church St. in Amsterdam with the Rev. Alice Monschke presiding. There are no calling hours. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Rd., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
