Obituary of Rose M. Andrews

Mrs. Rose M. Hayes Andrews, age 65, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at her home on New Turnpike Road, Fort Plain. She was born October 3, 1939 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Fred and Nettie Wilder Hayes. Since 1968 Rose was employed as a dealer / manager by Friendly Home Parties, where she won many trips around the country and the world. Well known for her volunteerism, Mrs. Andrews was a very active member of Believer's Fellowship Center, Johnstown, where she taught Sunday School. She was also active at the clothing pantry at the Assembly of God Church, and acted as activity director at Pineview Commons Adult Home. Rose had previously bowled at the former Sunset Lanes in Gloversville. Rose was married on November 15, 1958 to James P. Andrews Sr. who survives. Also surviving are her four children, James P. Andrews Jr. of Fort Plain, Philip W. Andrews of Fonda, Victoria L. Andrews Bowden of Bristol, CT and Cindy J. Skonieczny of Dolgeville; two brothers, James Dingman of Gloversville and Robert Dingman of Michigan; two sisters, JoAnn LeBaron of Twin Lakes, MI and Evelyn Hayes of Gloversville; 10 grandchildren, James P. Andrews III, Justin Andrews, Brittany Andrews, Larry Chest, Kara Marie Chest, Scott Skonieczny, Ashley Skonieczny, Sara Bowden, Kevin Bowden and Eric Bowden; a great granddaughter, Jaidyn Chest; and several nieces and nephews. Her brother Nelson Hayes and sister Eleanor Bushnoe predeceased her. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday with Pastor Philip W.B. Carey officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Memorial contributions may be made to the Believer's Fellowship Center Benevolent Fund, 150 S. Comrie Ave., Johnstown, NY 12095.
