Mr. Frederick Steenburg Sr; 85, of Gloversville NY, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Gloversville. Born November 22, 1919 in Gloversville, he was the son of the late William and Jenny Carr Steenburg. He was educated in Gloversville schools and employed at Karg Brothers Tannery for many years as a wet choreman. He lastly had worked for Johntown Leather, retiring in 1982.
He enjoyed watching movies at home while recording many of them. He also enjoyed cross stitch sewing.
Survivors include his wife Mabel Wagner Steenburg of Gloversville, whom he married February 14, 1942, five sons: Frederick Steenburg Jr; Gerald Steenburg, Timothy Steenburg and Thomas Steenburg all of Gloversville, and Robert Steenburg of South Carolina. He is also survived by two sisters: Pauline Deer and Katherine Colsen, both of Gloversville, one brother, Clement Steenburg of Gloversville, 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Steenburg was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Jean Steenburg; a sister, May Deer; and by two brothers, Earl Steenburg and Harold Steenburg.
There will be no calling hours or services. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ambulance Service of Fulton County, Frontage Road, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements are by Kobuskie - Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville.
