Obituary of Catherine Frick

Catherine Veneroso Frick 79, of Bayard Street, Amsterdam, passed away Thursday morning at the Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach Fla. She was spending the winter at her home in DelRay Beach. Born in Amsterdam on December 3, 1925, the daughter of Martin and Anna DiBlasi Veneroso, she was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Catherine was employed as an interviewer for the State Of New York Department Of Labor, unemployment division until she retired. A lifelong communicant of St. Michael The Archangel Church, she was a member of the Santa Sofia Society and St. Michael?s Seniors and was a charter member of St. Mary?s Hospital Auxiliary. Cathy was a caring person who loved her family and even though she and her husband had no children of their own, they were both very close to their nieces and nephews. On March 7, 1977 she was united in marriage to Elmer C. Frick Jr. They had a happy life together until his passing on Feb. 19, 2001. They both enjoyed spending time at their Florida residence during the winter months. Survivors include her dear cousins, Antoinette Saullo of Amsterdam and Carmelina Sinicropi of Sarasota, Fla.; Her sister in law; Elsie Veneroso of Amsterdam; her brother in law, Donald K. Frick of Plano Texas; nephews; Robert and James Frick, nieces Patricia Chrusz, Cindy Reid and Nancy Post. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Vito Veneroso, and a sister, Rose Martuscello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass Of Christian Burial which will offered Thursday , Feb. 17th at 11:00 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment is in the Sacred Heart Shrine at St. Mary?s Cemetery. The calling hours are private. Contributions may be made to St. Michael?s Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 699, Amsterdam 12010.
