Obituary of Michael DeMaria

Amsterdam Michael DeMaria 48, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away suddenly late Monday evening . Born in Pittsburg, California on July 22, 1956, the son of Dominic and the late Stella Glavaris DeMaria. He lived in Amsterdam for most of his life and attended local schools. Mike was employed locally by Longview Fiber and Georgia Pacific. Following his move to Indiana ten years ago, he was a supervisor for National Industries in LaPorte. He served with the US Marine Corps and was a communicant of St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church. His loving family includes his father and step-mother, Dominic and Donna DeMaria of Little Ferry, N.J.; his daughters; Michele Wood of Rolling Praire, Ind., and Kristy DeMaria of LaPorte; his son: Trent DeMaria of Springfield, Ind.; his brothers ; John, Anthony and Jerry DeMaria all of Amsterdam; and his sister: Teresa Bottisti of Amsterdam; six grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are Monday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti, celebrant. Interment will take place next to his beloved mother in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
