Obituary of Shirley F. LaVallee

Shirley F. LaVallee of Gloversville, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 after a long illness. She was predeceased in 2004 by her husband, Gerard E. LaVallee. She is survived by her children, Tamie White (David), Gerard LaVallee (Kimberly) and Robert LaVallee, all of Gloversville, Cindy LaVallee of DeWitt, NY and Sean LaVallee (Sara) of Syracuse; granddaughters, Stephanie White and Cristin Steding (Ian), all of Troy, NY. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Theresa Morrison of Lake Pleasant and her brother, Richard Bennett of Fort Walton Beach, FL, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Bennett and her sister, Helen Steenburg. Mrs. LaVallee was born in Gloversville on November 14, 1926 and was educated in Gloversville schools. She had been employed variously by Elizabeth Olmstead Real Estate, Heritage Linens and Society Hill Linens. She was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Visitation hours will be Sunday, February 4 from 1 to 3pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 5 at 10am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville. Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
