Obituary of Daniel Paul Maines

Daniel Paul Maines, 41, of Midline Rd., sadly passed away suddenly on Friday, January 26th, 2018 in the comfort of his own home. Born on January 3rd, 1977 in Amsterdam NY, he was the son of Helena Wendt Maines and the late Gary W. Maines. Daniel was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. In August of 2007 he began to build a life with his lifelong friend and love of his life, Anne Marie Traskos. He was a loving and caring individual who enjoyed music and attending concerts with his family. Whether it was going to concerts, Great Escape, or zoos he was always more than happy to be around his family. He will be fondly remembered for his smooth talking and ability to "Sell ice to an eskimo." Daniel is survived by his beloved mother, Helena Wendt Maines. His beloved companion, Anne Marie Traskos. His step children Kevin and Riley Seahorn, whom he was very close with. His lifelong best friend, Kevin Traskos and his second mom, Elizabeth Traskos. His aunt and uncle, Christine Skotarczak and Michael Skotarczak. His daughter, Shadow Maines, and his grandchildren, Chase and Velvet. Aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece also survive. Daniel is predeceased by his dear father Gary W. Maines, his brother Gary John Maines, and maternal grandparents, Jane Wendt and William Wendt. A Funeral Service for Daniel will take place at 11am on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Daniel will be buried in the spring alongside of his brother and father at Perth Cemetery, 2247 City Highway 107, Amsterdam, NY, at the convenience of the family.
