Obituary of Nicholas Arvanitakis

Nicholas Arvanitakis, age 86, of Gloversville, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a short illness

He was born September 2, 1931 in New York City, the son of Sotirious and Dina Arvanitakis.  He resided at Mountainview II and attended Johnstown Day Program.

Nick was a quiet man who was beloved by all who knew him. He was a champion bowler. He also enjoyed helping people. He never missed a parade and liked the floats best of all. He will be missed by all of his friends at Dunkin' Donuts, as coffee and conversation were his favorite pastimes. Nick enjoyed laughing with his friends and watching comedies. His laughter was infectious and will be missed.

He is survived by his Lexington family and his advocate, Nicole LaPorta. He was predeceased by his best friend, Jack.

A graveside service will take place 11:00 am Thursday, June 7 at Ferndale Cemetery, 545 N. Perry St; Johnstown.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Lexington Foundation, 465 N. Perry St; Johnstown, NY 12095.
