Richard Paul “Rich” Eagan Sr. was born June 18, 1949. He sadly lost his fight in the late hours on May 14th, 2023. He had an extended stay between Nathan Littauer Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital that lasted 33 days where he showed how strong he was and fought very hard like a true LION. He was the glue to our family. Rich left behind his beautiful wife and soulmate of 43 years Mary Eagan. His baby girl Baylee was like one of his kids. His Children, Douglas Dawson (Bev), Marshall Dawson (Becky), Richard Eagan JR (Becky), Billy Eagan (Racquel), Desiree Myers, April Leduc (Andrew), Heather VanKleeck-Eagan (Timothy), his daughter-in-law Reebok (Rebecca), and Son-in-law Timothy who he considered his kids. Rich also leaves behind His grandchildren Emily, Chelsea, Alexee, Kassidi, Richard 3rd, Amelia, Marrisa, Timothy Jr, Craig Jr, Austin, Darrien, Kateri, Adam, Anna, Leni, AJ, Hayden, Kaycee, Anthony, Brayden, Madison, Tyler, Anne, Marky, Laura, and great grandchildren who he loved dearly. Rich also leaves behind his sisters Sharon (Charlie who was like a brother), Sheila, Maryann, and Brothers Paul and Timothy. He was preceded by both his Parents Walter and Gladys, his brothers Bruce, James, Charles, and sister Carol.

Rich was always the life of the party, enjoyed his trucks and doing mud bogging and truck pulls with bomb fires the louder the tunes the better. His favorite song was Old Violin by Johhny Paycheck. He worked on cars and loved fishing, watching wrestling, and his favorite tv shows like Law & Order and Perry Mason. Rich was always there for his family and would never turn anyone away that needed help.

Before Rich’s passing, he said I’m a lion, ROAR. Let’s all live as a lion and be as strong and fearless as Rich.

The services were completed by Betz, Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, Gloversville. The family held a private celebration of life for Rich.
