Obituary of Ambrose Anderson

Ambrose Anderson, age 98, of Gloversville, died January 30, 2024, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. He was born August 28, 1925, in Gloversville, the son of Ambrose and Hattie Anderson, who preceded him in death. He attended boot camp at Camp Montford Point, Camp LeJeune, and served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He participated in an operation against the enemy on Iwo Jima. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal.

He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Anderson; sons, Durward "Dewey" Bradford and Jeffrey Anderson; daughter, Shelly Anderson and his sister, Hazel Taylor. He leaves to mourn in his passing, his devoted children, Darlene Bradford-Williams, Karen H Anderson and Kevin Anderson and daughter-in-law Brenda Anderson. Eight loving grandchildren, Lina Bradford, Marie Anderson, Gabriella Anderson, Jamarr Ward, Taneesh Mannion (Bill), Darien Ward, Jamira Ward and Ashley Anderson. Five great-grandchildren, Jacinda Ward, Anthony Harrington, Deiz Ward, Termaine Holloway and Glen Anderson. Sister-in-law, Barbara Richardson. God-daughter, Jennifer Teabout, along with an aunt, cousins and many devoted friends.

The family wants to acknowledge the excellent care received from the third floor of Nathan Littauer Hospital, along with the Home Health Care Aides.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30am to 11:30 am Thursday, February 8th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a memorial service will follow at 11:30 am with Pastor Floyd Singleton officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will take place in the spring at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
