Terry Marshall

Obituary of Terry Marie Marshall

Terry Marie Marshall, 72, of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 10, 1951 in Fort Dix, New Jersey to Kenneth L. and Catherine P. (Conti) Putman.

On December 23, 1971 she was united in marriage to Robert K. Marshall of Gloversville, New York. The couple shared 50 wonderful years together, until Robert’s passing on March 30, 2022. They enjoyed doing many things together such as riding and spending time with their horses, watching their grandsons play baseball and soccer and taking long car rides together, which Terry continued after Bob's passing with her beloved canine companion, Forte.

Given her father's role as an Air Force mechanic she attended schools in Japan, Germany and Mississippi and returned to New York where she graduated from High School in Rochester in 1969.  She went on to earn an Associates degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College. She worked as an Administrative Assistant with Lexington ARC for 28 years.  During those 28 years she loved her job and the community of people she worked with and served.  She exhibited an innate ability to make everyone around her feel valued and heard. The friendships and connections she formed with everyone she met were a testament to her kindness.

Terry was devoted to her family, especially her daughters and grandsons. She enjoyed many hobbies, including flower gardening, sewing, quilting, rug hooking, and basket weaving most of which she shared with her dear friend Cathi Abel. Terry will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, her generosity and her positive outlook on life despite the challenges she faced daily.

Her loving family includes her mother, Catherine Putman (Yorktown, VA); her daughters, Kelly Marshall (Columbus, OH), Kristie Schwartz (Amsterdam, NY), and Kara (Chris) Insogna ( Caroga Lake, NY); her grandchildren, Noah Schwartz, Ian Schwartz, Kelsey Insogna, and Zachary Insogna; her faithful canine companion, Forte; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Aside from her beloved husband Robert, Terry is also preceded in passing by her father, Kenneth L. Putman and by her grandson, Christopher Joseph Michael “CJ” Insogna.

In keeping with Terry’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
