Nancy Dufel

Obituary of Nancy Lynn Dufel

Nancy Lynn Dufel, 69, of Fort Hunter, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born on February 9, 1955, in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Kenneth and Nelda (Bishop) Field. Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy, which caused their family to move frequently during Nancy’s childhood. They moved to the local area in Nancy’s early teenage years, where she graduated from Fonda Fultonville High School with the class of 1973.

After graduation, Nancy began working for the Amsterdam Infirmary. Most recently, she worked for Fownes Brothers and Co., where she retired after more than 20 years of employment.

Nancy was united in marriage to William Dufel III in 1974. They shared 43 wonderful years together, full of love and laughter, before his passing in 2018.

Nancy enjoyed the outdoors and would love to go hunting and camping with her husband William. After his passing, she continued this tradition with her children and grandchildren. One of her favorite past times was playing cards. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and making joyous memories with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband William Dufel III; parents Kenneth and Nelda Field; daughter Lynn Dufel; and brother David Field.

Nancy is survived by her sister Deborah Field; daughters Erica (Wes Moore) Dufel and Anne (Jordan) May; son Michael (Chantel) Dufel; grandchildren Reece Aguilera, Lillian Moore, Allyson May, and Jordan May Jr.; as well as her beloved cat Maggie and dog Bella.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital Donate (stjude.org).
