Obituary of Sadie A. Malinowski

Mrs. Sadie A. Malinowski, 92 years old, formerly of Amsterdam, died late Monday at the Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, where she had been a resident since February of this year. She had resided in Wilton since 1993. Mrs. Malinowski was born January 12, 1918, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Casimir and Stefani Uncher Slavis. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for the former Mohawk Sportswear for many years. Sadie was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church and a member of its Auxiliary. She had been active in Girl Scouting for many years and was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Wilton. Sadie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sadie married Frank J. Malinowski on September 1, 1940. He died January 27, 1987. She is survived by her daughter Carol A. David Freeman of Gansevoort, NY, her son Donald P. Malinowski of Galway, NY, three grandchildren: Eric Amy Freeman, David Malinowski and Nicole Joseph Nemecek, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sadie was predeceased by her grandson Airman John F. Malinowski. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with Fr. Robert DeMartinis officiating. Burial is in St. Casimir's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
