Obituary of Dorothy Kruger

Dorothy Kruger, 70, of Charles St., Amsterdam, passed away following a long illness on Wednesday morning July 7, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Gloversville, NY on June 16, 1940 a daughter of Herbert Ward and Ruth Zukerwar. She was a lifelong resident of the Fulton and Montgomery County areas and attended Gloversville schools. Dorothy was employed for over 20 years as a Nurse's Aide with the Montgomery County Nursing Services of Fultonville, NY. She also was employed for CHC and was a certified Home Health Aide. She was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, creating flower arrangements and decorating. She married Lester A. Kruger Jr. on September 14, 1957. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Les Allen Kruger and Steven Alan Kruger both of Amsterdam. One daughter, Sharon Lee Kruger of Broadalbin, NY. Brothers and sisters, Mary, Robert, and Sharon. Brothers and sisters who are the children of Herbert and Helen are Frank, John, Michael, Charlene, Shirley, Sally, Francis, Lillian, Linda and Danielle. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Les A. Kruger, Daniel J. Kruger, David S. Kruger, Sandy Kruger, Mark Kruger and Zsanette Sargalis. She is also survived by someone whom she considered as her surrogate son, Michael Sargalis. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. Dorothy was predeceased by a sister Caroline. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 10, 2010 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday July 10, 2010 beginning one hour prior to the funeral service at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted at the funeral home.
