Obituary of Ward H. Borchert

Mr. Ward H. Borchert, 79, formerly of Marshville Road, Town of Canajoharie died peacefully on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Folts Home in Herkimer, NY with his family by his side. Born on April 15, 1931 in Fort Plain, NY he was the son of the late William and Leola Ward Borchert. A lifelong area resident, Ward attended local schools and operated Borchert Brothers Dairy Farm until his retirement. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Freysbush Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Seebers Lane Grange for over 50 years and the Farm Bureau of Montgomery County. Survivors include his wife of 60 years , the former Joyce L. Grandshaw; two sons Daniel W. Borchert and his wife Cindy of Cherry Valley, NY and Timothy A. Borchert and his wife Cindi of Fort Plain, NY; one daughter, Lori Hajczewski and her husband Tom and Holly Craver of Fort Plain, NY; three sisters, Linnie Moyer of VanHornesville, NY, Charlotte Loadwick of Nelliston, NY and Marie Eckler and her husband Victor of Fort Plain, NY; four grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, Sarah and Kelly Borchert; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson, Shane Borchert; and his siblings Claude Borchert and Loella Moyer. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10 o?clock at the Freysbush Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Griffith presiding. Interment will follow in the Freysbush Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call this evening, Tuesday July 6, 2010 from 5 until 8p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Folts Home for their excellent care, support and love for the last five years of Mr. Borchert?s life. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Borchert?s memory to the Freysbush Methodist Church or the Folts Home in care of the funeral home office.
