Obituary of Mildred I. Palleschi

Mildred I. "Millie" Palleschi, 79, of East Main Street, passed away Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born September 19, 1930 in Amsterdam, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Florence Luciano Zannitto. She was a life long resident of Fonda. Millie graduated from Fonda High School and later from Albany Medical College where she received her nursing degree. She was employed at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital throughout the years and also worked for Doctor Kelly and Doctor McGuigan, she also was employed as a private duty nurse taking care of many elderly patients in Fonda, Fultonville and Amsterdam. Millie was a parishioner of St. Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda and the Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member of the Fonda Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and was always helping everyone. On April 28, 1951 she was married to Tullio A. Palleschi Sr. Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Tullio A. Palleschi Jr. Cynthia of Chittenango, NY; a daughter Katherine Norman Michael of Fonda; three grandchildren, Craig Palleschi Jillian of Mt. Arlington, NJ; Lauren Norman of Fonda and Jennifer Kohl Kevin of Liverpool, NY; three sisters, Carrie Compani of Fonda; Mary Grasso of Dallas, PA and Delores Wohlgemuth of Fultonville; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Millie was predeceased by a grandson Michael D. Norman who passed away March 18, 2002. She was also predeceased by two brothers Joseph and Peter and her sisters Angelina, Anna, Catherine and Josephine. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010, at 9:00 am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Cecelia's Church, Fonda with Fr. Thomas Marciniak as celebrant. The interment will take place in St. Cecelia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Millie's memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
