Obituary of Anita Curtiss

Mrs. Anita Curtiss, 78 years old of McDonald Drive, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Hillcrest Spring in Amsterdam. Mrs. Curtiss was born July 12, 1931 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Nicola and Maria Sassi Belpulsi and was a life long resident of the Amsterdam area. She was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, class of 1951. Mrs. Curtiss had been employed as a designer by the former Mohawk Carpet Mills for many years and then as a secretary by Altieri?s Auto, Inc. for several years. She was a member of the Iroquois Seniors of Tribes Hill and the Sir William Johnson Seniors. Mrs. Curtiss was a former member of the Century Club, Moose Lodge No 1185 and the Mayfield Yacht Club. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed taking art lessons at the Walter Elwood Museum. She married Robert W. Curtiss on October 24, 1954 who survives. Mrs. Curtiss is also survived by her daughter Carol and her husband David Vassi of Duanesburg, her grandson Nicolas Vassi, her special nephew Thomas Dingman and nephews James and Gary Townsend. She was predeceased by two brothers Anthony and Leo Belpulsi and by a sister Connie Dingman. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Tuesday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with The Rev. Kenneth Bonnett officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4 until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
