Obituary of Rosemary Clare Baldwin

Rosemary Clare Baldwin passed away June 8, 2010 at her home in Arlington Heights. She was born November 12, 1960, in Spring Valley, Ill., to James Francis and Charlotte nee Safranske Martin. Rosie was passionate about her family. She championed the interests of her husband and their three daughters, cheering them on in all their activities, including soccer, taekwondo and Girl Scouts, and loved the family RV trips. She was active in the Greenbrier PTA rewarding volunteer parents and as a room mom, the Thomas Middle School PTA running the Parent-to-Parent Information Program, where experienced parents link with 6th grade parents, co-chair of the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs Scholarship Selection Committee, which provides funds directly to high-achieving high school seniors who had attended District 25 schools, and the Grant Review Committee for ABC/25 Foundation. She was an avid genealogist, and she also loved to organize events that helped bring family and friends together, whether it was a trip to the Baldwin summer home in Galway, N.Y., or dinner in her kitchen. Rosie cared about people in need, coordinating charity events and encouraging her daughters to do the same. Rosie did not seek the spotlight; she used her light to help others shine. Her kind heart, generosity, sense of humor, always ready ear, and profound sense that every person mattered are an inspiration. Rosie is survived by her beloved husband, Benjamin G. Baldwin III and their children, Hannah Rachel, Madeleine Claire and Lara Isabelle; her siblings, Michael L. Jody Martin, Holly M. Gary B. Townsend and Brian P. Chris Martin; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Martin; and their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her in-laws, parents, Maureen M. and Ben G. Baldwin Jr. and their children, Peter Susie Baldwin, Katie Doug Leipprandt and Michael Karen Baldwin; and their children. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James F. Martin; and her nephew, Michael Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, East Main St. in Amsterdam. Fr. Brian List will officiate. Followed by interment at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Rosie's Lemon-Aid Stand Against Lung Cancer," 1518 W.
