Obituary of Mildred Chase

Mrs. Mildred Chase, age 97, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, NY. She was born July 3, 1912 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles and Estelle Hammer. She lived in the Mayfield and Gloversville areas for most of her life. Her working career included many years at the former Bachmo Glove Company in Gloversville. Mildred was married to Newton Chase who died over 43 years ago. She was also preceded in death by all four of her siblings. Survivors include: her daughter, Winifred Perrone Rene of Schoharie; three granddaughters, Roxanne Schmidt Jorg, Valerie Farrington Mark and Pamela Towne; her grandson-in-law, Mark Towne; eight great-grandchildren, Jennie Rogers Mike, Mary Ferrara Paul, Joshua Towne, Rene Farrington, Brett Melita, Benjamin Farrington Jamie, Abigail Towne and Sadie Towne; five great-great-grandchildren, Gabriella Farrington, Sydney Rogers, Sophia Rogers, DiMaggio Ferrara and Gehrig Ferrara; several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will take place at the convenience of the family at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville. The Rev. Cynthia J. VanAllen will officiate. Interment will take place at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103
