Obituary of Susan D. Roszak

Mrs. Susan D. Roszak, 77, of Scotia, NY formerly of Hagaman, NY passed away Thursday evening April 15, 2010 at her home with her loving family and friends at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 16, 1932 a daughter of Frank and Angelina Ciarmella Turo. She was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Mrs. Roszak worked throughout her career as a secretary beginning with the General Electric company in Schenectady, the former Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam and Tammy Peters and Associates in Amsterdam retiring in 1993. Susan was very active at Bishop Scully and involved in many facets of the high school. She was a communicant of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman, NY. She cherished spending time with her family especially her beloved grandchildren. Mrs. Roszak also enjoyed knitting, including her famous "Aunt Sue's Christmas Stockings". Susan married Stanley C. Roszak on August 9, 1953. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Bucciferro David of Scotia, NY. Two sons, Robert J. Roszak Michael J. Fusco of Albany, NY and Richard J. Roszak of Loganville, Ga. Three grandchildren, Bruce, Alex and Erica Bucciferro and her fiance Kyle Flanigan. Two sisters, Teresa Ruggeri and Mary Natole, Sister-in-law, Antoinette Turo; one brother, Dominick DeTuro. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as dear friends, Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Dziedzic, Phil Farrell and Jane DiCaprio also survive. She was predeceased by three brothers, Angelo Turo, Vincent "Jimmy" Turo and Anthony "Tony" Turo. Four sisters, Elizabeth Hroncich, Nancy Ouellette, Carmella Karchesky and Edith Furman. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 19, 2010 at 8:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15A.M. at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY with Father Pascal Iannotti as celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday April 18, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Columbarium Wall at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Scotia-Glenville Fire Department or to the Ellis Hospital Wright Cardiac Care Center both c/o the funeral home.
