Obituary of June A. Muddle

June A. Muddle, 92, went to be home with the Lord on Monday, April 12, 2010. She was born October 26, 1917 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Marion Bleyl Walters. On June 26, 1940 she was united in marriage to William E. Muddle, Sr. They enjoyed over forty six years together until his passing December 21, 1986. June was employed at Decca Records, at Britt's Department Store as a clerk and was also a finger knitter for Elma Knit. She worked as a nurses' aide at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility until her retirement in 1977. Mrs. Muddle was a member of the Bleecker Street Church of Christ as a child and was President of the Young People's Group there. Later on, June was a very active and faithful member of the Foothills United Methodist Church, participating in many activities there, including the United Methodist Women. She was also a long time member of the Gloversville Senior Center. Most importantly, June was devoted to her family her entire life. She always put others ahead of herself and was a wonderful and loving caregiver. Ever present with a kind word and a smile, she will be very sadly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include three daughters: Marion Yost Merle of Gloversville, Elizabeth Hodel of Gloversville and Carolyn Sunderland of Brooksville, FL; two sons: William E. Muddle, Jr. of Ft. Plain and John C. Muddle of Ft. Johnson; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, June was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Frasier; a brother, Christian A. Walters, a step mother, Vera Armstong Walters and an aunt, Emma Walters Clements, who was instrumental in raising June and her brother. Family and friends are invited and may call Thursday, April 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The 50/55 Plus Club of Gloversville will perform a ritual at 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at the Foothills United Methodist Church with the Reverend Cindy Van Allen presiding. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the Gloversville Senior Center, 53 Church Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
