Obituary of Bernice Urban

Bernice Urban, 88, formerly of Vrooman Avenue, passed away peacefully Monday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a long illness. Born in Amsterdam on March 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Ginaitis Blusis. A graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, she lived here her entire life. Bernice was employed for many years as a technician for the General Electric Company in Schenectady before she retired. She was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and a parishioner of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church. She had a friendly nature and enjoyed her daily walks around her Bartlett Street neighborhood. She leaves her dear friends, Ray and Freda Sagatis of Amsterdam and their family. At Bernice's request, services are private from the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Fr. John Medwid, officiating. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery. There are no calling hours and contributions may be made in her name to St. Casimir's Cemetery in care of the funeral home office.
