Obituary of Doris J. Green

Doris J. Green, 81 , of Fairmont Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday March 30, 2010 at her home with her family at her side after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 19, 1928 a daughter of Harold A. and Fern Engle Green Sr. She was a lifelong Amsterdam and Hagaman area resident and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School Class of 1946. She was the Owner and Operator of the former Green's Confectionary in Amsterdam for over 50 years. Doris enjoyed taking care of Foster Children of Fulton and Montgomery Counties and of Kids Peace. She also enjoyed working around her home and taking care of her yard and flowers. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Survivor's include two daughters, Cheryl Rusnica Mark of Amsterdam and Diane Green of New York City. One brother, Harold A. Green Doris of Amsterdam. Two grandchildren, Kristin Sidlauskas Stephen of Amsterdam and Katie Rusnica of Amsterdam. Two nieces, Karen Lanzi and Kathy Luft. Cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Charles Hesselink presiding. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday April 1, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. at the funeral home.
