Obituary of Marion B. Ciocco

Marion B. Ciocco, 97, of the Devon Manor in Devon, PA, formerly of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Wednesday March 24, 2010 with her family at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on July 2, 1912 a daughter of Florence Bemis and step-daughter of William Ingham. She was a graduate of Amsterdam High School class of 1929 and was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam and its Faithful Followers Bible Class. Mrs. Ciocco was a member of AARP and served as secretary, vice president and publicity chairman. She was a member of the Columbian Social Club Auxiliary and served as secretary for 20 years and also a member and former volunteer of Amsterdam Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Mohawk Valley Heritage Association. Mrs. Ciocco was employed as a Secretary at the former Mohasco Corporation in Amsterdam for 36 years until retirement in 1977 and was a member of Mohawk Carpet Mills Quarter Century Club. She was married on January 19, 1935 to Arthur E. Ciocco who died September 9, 1991. After the death of her husband Marion moved to Devon, PA in October of 1993. She attended exercise class at the Mainline YMCA, became a member of Community Bible Study and actively volunteered at Church of the Savior. Survivors include one son, Arthur R. CioccoGillian of Devon, PA, three grandchildren, Arthur R. of Berwyn, PA and Tina M. Connors Chris and Aaron James of Paoli, PA. Three step-grandchildren, Caitlin Brauch Greg of Conway, SC and Jonathan and Colin Esposito of Devon, PA, plus six great-grandchildren, Robert, Nicole and Daniel Ciocco of Berwyn, PA. and Emmett, Avery and Justine Connors of Paoli, PA. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 29, 2010 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Rev. Dr. John Califano presiding. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 29, 2010 prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Montgomery County S.P.C.A. c/o the funeral home.
