Obituary of Katherine D. Johnson

Miss Katherine D. "Kay" Johnson, age 86, formerly of Broadalbin, died February 12, 2010 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown. She was born December 30, 1923 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Edward and Nellie Hillman Johnson. She was a member of the graduating class of 1942 at Broadalbin High School, and later worked at The Leader Herald in Gloversville as a receptionist/cashier for 33 years until her retirement. Kay was a member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Pat McCaw of Ontario, Canada and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Lester and Viola Blair, and a brother, Clinton Ferguson. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Frank Marshall will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, Broadalbin.
