Obituary of Angeline A. DePalma Hall

Angeline "Angela" A. DePalma Hall, 76, of Old Trail Road, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at her home following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on April 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vincenza "Nellie" Carretta DePalma. She was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1951. Angie worked for a time in the clerical department of G.E. in Schenectady. She later worked for St. Mary's Hospital in the housekeeping department. Following her marriage to former city Alderman Raymond C. Hall now deceased she took time off to raise their family. Angie later returned to the work force, and was employed many years at Mt. Loretto Nursing Home and currently back at St. Mary's Hospital in the dietary department. She kept an active lifestyle and truly enjoyed working out at the Alpin House Fitness Center, gardening and getting together with her friends and her "lunch bunch". Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her beloved canine pal "Heide". Angie was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She was married to Salvatore "Sal" Morreale who predeceased her on August 2, 2008. She also lost her son, Robert DePalma Hall on October 2, 1997. Her loving family includes her daughters, Marianne Mailen and her husband Gary of Binghamton, NY, Juliana Johnston and her husband Gary of Latham, Lisa Hall and her fiance Frank Hudson of Orlando, FL, Diane Hall and her husband Vincent Mautone of Amsterdam and Denise Hall and her husband Shawn Emery of Salt Lake City, Utah; Step-children, Robert Morreale and his wife Shirley, Salvatore Morreale, Sandra Morreale and Sharon Terry and her husband Robert; Grandchildren, Michael and Mallory Mailen, Bradley, Jordyn and Matteson Hage, Olivia and Andrew Mautone, and Carson and Sophia Emery; her brother, Joseph and his wife Mary DePalma of Amsterdam as well as nieces, nephews, an aunt and several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday at 9:15 am at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam. Fr. John Medwid, celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday evening from 4-7 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Angie's memory to St. Mary's Institute in care of the funeral home office. Her family is most grateful to Hospice for their care in her last week, and to the staffs at both St. Mary's Hospital and Albany Medical Center's SICU for their wonderful care.
