Obituary of Harry Laptook

Harry Laptook, 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away February 8, 2005. Born July 28, 1910 in New York City, New York. He was son of Edward and Jenny Jackson Laptook and was a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He worked for the Department of Welfare in the City of New York as a social worker. He was also a commercial artist in New York for Sanford and Associates. Mr. Laptook was preceded in death by his wife Augusta Packer Laptook. Mr. Laptook was at one time the Commandant of the ROTC program at the University of Nebraska. He also served as an Officer in the last U.S. Calvary Regiment. Mr. Laptook was related by marriage to the Packer Family of Amsterdam. Survivor?s include- his daughters- Marian Stephens and Nancy Goldsmith. Grandchildren- Melissa Gaha, Stephanie Stephens, Jennifer Goldsmith, Bradley Goldsmith and Adam Goldsmith. Great Grandchildren- Caleb and Tessa Gaha. Graveside Services will be held Today Friday February 11, at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, Cranesville, NY with Rabbi Monte Sugarman presiding.
