Obituary of Mary Catherine Wadsworth

Mary Catherine Wadsworth of Fultonville, passed away September 30th with her family by her side.

Mary was born December 17, 1965 to Bruce and Genevieve (Jennie Aldi) Wadsworth and grew up in Fultonville, graduating in 1984 from Fonda-Fultonville Central School.

Mary spent her adult life actively involved in the Special Olympics participating in Cross Country Skiing, Bowling, Track, and Swimming, earning several medals. She enjoyed Line Dancing and Bowling with her friends from Liberty. She was employed at Liberty Food Services, FMCC Food Services, and McDonalds, Fultonville. McDonalds was her favorite job; working there for over 10 years as a Hostess. Mary was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church of Fonda, and her favorite pastime was Bingo at her Church which she enjoyed playing and volunteering her time on Gary and Sue Halls’ Bingo Team.

In 2015, Mary moved to Canajoharie, where she met her extended family; all the staff and clinicians that supported her at Ridge Road. Mary quickly made new friends and enjoyed several activities there including shopping, church services, ice cream, dining out and going to musical events in the community, her favorite activity being trips to the SPCA.

Mary was pre-deceased by her father Bruce Wadsworth who passed away in June of 2016, as well as her grandparents Albert and Jane Wadsworth and Michael and Natalina Aldi, and her two very special friends; Gary Frascatore and Clifford LaFountain.

Mary is survived by her Mother Jennie, Brother Doug (Michele) of Glen, Nephew Evan (Julia) of Pompano Beach FL, and Nieces Brianna of Fultonville, and Shelby of Glen, as well as her adopted Fresh-Air Fund Brother Stephen Brown of Orlando, FL.

Mary’s legacy of Humility, Purity, and Compassion will live on with the influence that she had on so many lives.

The Family wishes there to be no viewing hours, and to have a celebration of her life with a Mass at St Cecilia’s Church on October 8th at 10:30 in the morning with a gathering to follow. Burial will be private at the Evergreen Cemetery.

Mary’s family wishes to thank Dr. George Weiss, and all the wonderful people of the 4th Floor St Mary’s Hospital, for their compassion and their help which was given to the Family.
