Obituary of Anna May Short

Mrs. Anna May Short of 780 W. Bay Area Blvd., Webster, TX died peacefully Thursday, July 26, 2018.

Born on April 11, 1926 she was the daughter of the late P. Carlton Joyce and Anna Spencer Joyce.  Anna May was a 1943 graduate of Canajoharie High School and later was employed for the Arkell & Smith Sack Factory in Canajoharie.

On January 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to Donald William Short.  Together for 72 years, Don predeceased Anna May a year ago on June 4. 2017.  She was also predeceased by her sons, Robert and William.

Anna May was a member of the Ames- Sprout Brook United Methodist Church and truly enjoyed being a homemaker.  She will be remembered for her love of family and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay (James) Monahan; Barbara (Michael) Cooper; daughter-in-law, Betty Short; eight grandchildren and spouses, and nine great-grandchildren; and one niece.  

A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 1:30p.m. at the Fort Plain Cemetery.  Calling hours will take place on Thursday from 11a.m to 1p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
