Obituary of Ronald L. Bell

Ronald L. "Gus" Bell, age 71, formerly of Fonda, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at The Fulton Center, Gloversville.

He was born July 4, 1947 in Gloversville, the son of the late Melvin and Pauline Eschler Bell. A graduate of Mayfield High School, he was employed as General Manager of Brown Coach, Amsterdam, for about 40 years.

Ron enjoyed sports and was a long-time soccer and basketball referee and baseball and softball umpire. He like to travel and spend time with his family.

He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Johnstown.

Ron is survived by a son, Sean Bell (Elisabeth Smalley) of Latham; his wife, Cheryl Huxhold of Fultonville; a sister, Valerie Gifford (Ed) of Johnstown; two grandsons, Brady and Brennan Bell; three step-daughters, Amy Janetsky, Erin Abele and Lisa Auspelmyer and a nephew, Eric Gifford (Sherry).

A Memorial Service will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 31 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1 W. Montgomery St; Johnstown, with the Rev. L. David Almleaf officiating.

Interment will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.
