Obituary of Kenneth R. Carlson

Kenneth R. Carlson, A.K.A. "Moose", 73, of Gloversville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. He was a Johnstown High School graduate and life log area resident.

 

He was the oldest son of the late Kenneth R. Carlson Sr. and Verna Esther Dalton Carlson. He was the brother of Ronald Carlson of South Carolina who predeceased him.

 

Ken is survived by his long-time companion Ellen Trojan of Gloversville; sons Walter R. Carlson and companion Dawn Smith of Amsterdam and Martin D. Carlson (Amy) of Fonda; grandson Colbie Carlson of Johnstown and step-grandchildren Chelsea Horton and Kenneth Horton of Fonda.

 

He had worked for Lee Dye during the 1970's to early 1980's. He then pursued a career in shipping and receiving at GE - Von Roll, where he later retired from.

 

Ken loved to spend time with his two sons and reminisce about old times. He enjoyed classic cars, auto shows, auto books and magazines. He absolutely loved building and collecting models along with building Legos with his grandson.

 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. L. David Almleaf officiating.

 

Interment will take place Wednesday at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla, NY.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
