Obituary of Sisto DiCaprio

Mr. Sisto DiCaprio, 84, of Schenectady, NY died suddenly on Friday, January 4, 2019.  Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 16, 1934 he was the son of the late Nicholas and Stella DiCaprio.

Sisto was a proud Veteran of the Korean War and spoke often of his service to his country.  He was employed for over 30 years for the United States Postal Service in Amsterdam.

Survivors include his daughter, Estelle Peek and her husband Cary of Schenectady, NY; two granddaughters, Erika and Rachel; his brother-in-law, John Miller Sr.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

On October 16, 1960 he was untied in marriage to his beloved wife “Mary.”  They were together for 43 years until her passing on August 11, 2003.  He was also predeceased by his sister Marie Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:15a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam.  Private burial will take place in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
