Obituary of Kathleen M. Smith

Mrs. Kathleen M. Smith, age 76, of Broadalbin, passed away August 9, 2019 at her home.

 

She was born September 2, 1942 in Troy, the daughter of the late Jack and Naydia Presper. She was later employed at the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program by Cornell Cooperative Extension. She was an Executive Director of the Miss Fulton County Scholarship Program, Executive Director of the YWCA of Gloversville, 4H Volunteer, Pleasant Ave. PTA Member, and a Founding Volunteer for Regional Animal Shelter, a Deacon and Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin, Volunteer at the Food Pantry in Galway and a Cook at Tryon Correctional Facility. Kathleen was especially proud of her work with fundraisers for Miss Fulton County.

 

Kathleen is survived by her fiancé Andrew McPherson, her son Robert J. Smith Jr. (Doreen), her daughter Kellie Nevins, two granddaughters; Lillian Grace Nevins and Allison Jay Nevins, along with several cousins and extended family members.

 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Smith, Sr.

 

A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00AM on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin, 54 W Main St, Broadalbin, with the Pastor Linda Martin officiating.

 

Interment will take place immediately following at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
