Obituary of James Robert Russell

     Mr. James Robert Russell, of the Town of Glen, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 18, 2019 at home. 

     Born in Amsterdam,  NY on April 22, 1952 a son of the late John and Helen Russell,  He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. 

    Mr. Russell was the owner and operator along with his brother Eugene Russell of the Russell Brothers Dairy Farm in the town of Glen.  After retirement he worked for the Dykeman Farm in Fonda, NY.  

     James had a passion for farming and was an expert at fixing things.  He enjoyed horse racing and playing the horses and above all spending time with his family and grandchildren.

    He is survived by his son Theodore “Ted” Russell and his wife Jennifer of Glen, NY.  His companion, Maria Kiszka of Gloversville, NY.  Brother,  Eugene (Lynda) of Glen, NY.  Sister, Karen Russell Leitt of Glen, NY and Diane (William) Dolan of Schenectady, NY.    Cherished grandchildren, Gage J., Isabel A.R. and Molly L.A. Russell all of Glen, NY.  Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

    The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday December 23, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00PM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY 12072.  Interment will be in the spring in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
