Obituary of Marsha L. Jones

Marsha L. Jones was called to be with the lord on January 15, 2020. She was born in Gloversville, NY on May 10, 1954 to Melvin and Catherine (Roberts) Walker.

Marsha worked at Coleco as a machine operator for years then went on to working at Wells Nursing Home as a housekeeper. With the help of her mother and stepfather, she was able to put herself through schooling to become an LPN. She worked at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home for several years and was later transferred to Nathan Littauer Hospital, where she was a pediatric nurse until she moved to Ohio in 2000. Marsha worked at several other places in Ohio, Villa Angela, Village of Westville then went to work as an Administrative Director of Nursing at CenterPoint in Centerberg till she moved back home in 2012. Marsha then went on to work at Fulton Center then back then back to Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home until her early retirement.

Marsha is survived by her mother Catherine Roberts; her four children Melanie (Bob) Deming, Catherine (John) VanEvery, Sharon Decker (Ryan Edwards) and her son William Decker (Kristin Mosher); her three brothers, Calvin (Kathleen) Walker, Mark (Terri) Roberts and John (Wendy) Roberts. Marsha has 12 grandchildren; Zach, Brooke, Alyssa, Robert, Ethan and Kirsten Deming, Brittany, Briann and Blaine VanEvery, Jakob Edwards and Abriannah Decker along with five great-grandchildren; Austyn VanEvery, Isabella Deming, Hannah Deming, Ashton Jackson and Jacob VanDuesen.

She was predeceased by her father Melvin Walker, her brother Richard Walker, and a granddaughter Bethany VanEvery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, January 21, 2020 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will follow at 6:00PM with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the Jones family will be accepting monetary donations towards purchasing a headstone for Marsha.

Arrangements are entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
