Obituary of Karan May Hinkle

      Mrs. Karan May Verdock Hinkle, 79, of Random Road, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 24, 1941, to Corneilus Verdock and Alice Oeser (Geweye).

Karan graduated from Fort Plain High School where she met and fell in love with her husband, Tommy, to whom she was married for nearly fifty years. She was an administrative assistant in the banking industry for many years, retiring in Walton, NY and returning to Meco, NY to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Karan spent her final years living with her daughter Alice in North Carolina. Karan loved and was deeply loved by her family. She had a great love of animals and her two little dogs brought her tremendous joy and comfort in her final years.

Her loving family include her children, Alice Sise, Denise (Gerald) Hernigle, John (Jennifer) Hinkle Jr., and Vernon (Lisa) Hinkle; her grandchildren, Justin, Billy, Silas, Kainen, Nathan, Nick, Allison, John, Patricia, Charles, Levi, Jeremy, Eric, Dillon, Danielle, and Jacob, as well as several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mona (David) Goossens; and a brother, John Geweye. Karan was predeceased by her parents; her husband, John “Tommy” Hinkle, Sr.; her son-in-law, Tom Sise; and two sisters, Yvonne Kane and Lorraine Burns.

     Funeral services will be conducted on Monday August 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will presiding.  Local arrangements are by the Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY.   Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to SECU Hospice Center, 243 North Lee Avenue, Yadkinville NC. 27055.
