Obituary of Louise Fisher

     Mrs. Louise A. Gatto Fisher, 78,  of  Hagaman,  passed away from a broken heart on Thursday  December 17, 2020 just one year following her husband’s death on December 10, 2019. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.

        Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 25, 1942 a daughter of the late Louis and Maudy Heaton Gatto.  She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.

        Louise worked for and was as part of her family’s businesses especially Fisher’s Variety Store in Ballston Spa, NY.  She and her husband were very successful and worked alongside their sons, Dave and Chad of  Fisher's Metal Fabrication in Hagaman.

       She enjoyed spending time with and raising her family.  Her family was above all in her life.  Louise also enjoyed spending time with her husband and family at their vacation home in Hawaii for over 25 years.

     She married Nelson A. Fisher on  September 2, 1962.  He passed away on December 10, 2019.  Survivors include her children, David (Traci) Fisher of Hagaman, NY, Chad Fisher of Hagaman, NY, Susan (Brian) Correll of Northville, NY and Nancy (Bill) Olin of Amsterdam. Thirteen Grandchildren,  Nicole, Brandy, Ashley, Janelle, Brett, Brice, Courtney, Cody, Colby, Amanda, Jason, Ethan and Ella. Twenty great-grandchildren.  Her sister Shirley Konik.  Sister-in-laws, Caroline Furman and Dixie Gatto, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

   Louise was predeceased by her grandson, Evan Fisher, brother, Louie Gatto, brother-in-laws, Michael Konik and Larry Furman.

       Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, A Private Celebration of Louise’s life will be held at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.  Private interment will be in Hagaman Mills Cemetery in the spring.   Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Hagman Volunteer Fire Department, 126 S. Pawling St., Hagaman, NY 12086.
