Obituary of Elizabeth Paton

     Mrs. Elizabeth "Betsy" Paton, 84, of Tribes Hill passed away Sunday January 17, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness.

       Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 6, 1936 a daughter of the late Edward and Helen Broeffle Faber.  She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and Tribes Hill and was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School in 1954.

       Betsy was employed as a Bookkeeper for her husband’s business Mohawk Valley Tire Co. in Fort Plain. 

     She was a member of the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Women's Group and the Stewardship committee.    Betsy was known as a kind person who would help anyone in need. 

       She married Edward R. Paton on August 11, 1957.  They would have been married 64 years. 

    In addition to her husband Ed of Tribes Hill, NY, survivors include, three children, Mark Paton (Amy) of Arizona, Ann Licciardi (Mike Chase) of Fort Plain, NY and Matthew Paton (Lynne) of Tribes Hill, NY.  Cherished grandchildren, Christopher Licciardi (Megan), Nicole Licciardi (Matt Shufelt) and Ashley Paton (Dan Sheehan), Jamy and Colin.  She was affectionately known as “GG Ma” by her Great-Grandchildren Ethan Licciardi, Ella Licciardi and Camden Shufelt. Step-great-grandchildren, Taylor and Payton.   Sisters, Barbara Rickard and Helen Martin.  Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

     Funeral services will be held on Friday January 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth St, Tribes Hill NY with Rev. Larry Greenwold presiding.  Interment will be in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY.  Due to the Covid 19 pandemic calling hours are private and will be held on the convenience of the family.   Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church, 116 Elizabeth St., Tribes Hill, NY 12177.
