Obituary of Richard J. Hayes

Richard James Hayes passed peacefully in his sleep January 1, 2022 at his home. He was born October 14, 1958 to the late James and Blanche Hayes. 

Richard lived his entire life on the family farm. He loved tractor pulling and was a good mechanic. He enjoyed working on his father’s tractor, The Iron Eagle and his best friend Pete Paddock’s tractor. Richard was at his best when helping to care for his mother prior to her passing. 

Richard is survived by his seven brothers and one sister, James (Donna) Hayes, Larry (Denise) Hayes, Tom (Nancy) Hayes, Barney (Charlotte) Hayes, Jamie (Kevin) Davis, Greg Hayes, Kim Hayes, and Mark (Diana) Hayes. He will be missed by all.  

Graveside Services will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 11 am with a gathering to follow at the Hayes Pavilion, 214 Mary Lane, Fultonville, NY 12072.  

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Richard can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
