Obituary of Sheila M. Danylak

2 Corinthians, 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Sheila M. Danylak, deceased following an exhausting battle with cancer on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her residence in Johnstown.

She was a graduate of St. Anne Institute, Albany, NY. She was employed by AT&T as a telecommunications operator and district manager for the hearing impaired at the relay center in Clifton Park, NY. She received numerous awards for acquiring new accounts for AT&T. She enjoyed in her recent years volunteering for the Town of Caroga as a lake steward, assisting in the upkeep and cleanliness of local bodies of water. After she retired from AT&T she not only worked numerous side jobs in the community, but she was also the most dedicated stay at home mom. Between taking her daughter to sporting events or bringing her husband dinner at work multiple nights a week without a second thought. She will be missed and remembered by too many people to list.

Sheila is survived by her husband of 35 years, Phillip J. Danylak of Johnstown; two daughters, Brooke Rachael Chaisson of Decatur, NY and Raina Danylak of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, Kevin Carelli of Gloversville and Peter Carelli of Fonda; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Janice M. Carelli.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday, February 24 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 12 James St; Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Douglas VanNostrand officiating.

Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to NYOH, Riverfront Center, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
