Obituary of Richard C. D'Arcangelis

Mr. Richard C. “Dick” D’Arcangelis, 69, of Fort Plain, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 surrounded by his family.  Born in Little Falls, NY on May 9, 1952 he was the son of the late Lugino “Lodge” D’Arcangelis and Constance “Connie” Crews D’Arcangelis.

A lifelong area resident, Dick attended local schools.  He worked hard all of his life to provide for his family.  He was employed through the years at The Fort Plain Packing Company, The Greely, Beech-Nut, D’Arcangelis Refrigeration and Alpin Haus as a pool technician. He truly was a jack of all trades.

On August 17, 1974 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Trumbull D’Arcangelis.  A union that was blessed with 48 years of unconditional love, they made their home at 848 Lighthall Road and raised a family.  Dick enjoyed growing his garden and hunting.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Pat Gros.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; his children, Brett D’Arcangelis and his wife Trisha of Fort Plain, NY and Brooke Cuddy and her husband Christopher of Fonda, NY; six grandchildren, Cameron, Bryellah, Raelynn, Kennedy, Reagan and Jackson; one sister, Karen Fetrow of Marana, AZ; many cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 10a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 3p.m. until 6p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.  Burial will take place at a later date in the Fort Plain Cemetery.
