Obituary of George Thomas Jr.

George Thomas Jr., 33, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday May 31, 2022.

He was born in Amsterdam, NY on October 19, 1988, a son of George Thomas Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Ft. Johnson, NY and attended local schools.

Known as Georgie, he was employed as an Electrician for many years for JME Electric of Ft. Johnson NY. Previously, he was employed by Stickermule. He adored his daughter, Madison Kate and was always proud of her. He had a special place in his heart for his buddy, Jaxon. He truly loved his sisters, Morgan and Cheyenne. Georgie will always be loved and cherished by his Dad, family and friends. He always will be remembered for his mealtime antics growing up.

He was a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing softball and video games. He always enjoyed time with his boxer dog, Olive. He also enjoyed playing catch with his Dad. He loved collecting various sneakers and hats. He enjoyed sitting by the fire with a good steak. He liked cooking and his famous mashed potatoes will be missed.

George is survived by his loving daughter, Madison Morin, The Mother of his child and high school sweetheart, Jennifer Morin of Amsterdam, His Father, George Thomas Sr. of Ft. .Johnson, NY. Sisters, Morgan(Chris) Reinhart of Hanford, California and Cheyenne Thomas of Florida. Aunts, Mary Ann Kruger of Ft. Johnson, Eileen (Steve) Pratt of Jenson Beach, FL, Betty (Rick) Knudsen, Uncle, Raymond (Theresa Lockwood) Thomas of Perth, NY. Grandparents, Dennis and Allison Pearson of Broadalbin. Nieces and nephews, Katie, Kylie, Lilee, Matthew and Magnolia. Several cousins and his best friend, Richard Spicci. His extended family: The woman he referred to as “Mom”, Kimberly Morin, Richard Morin, His considered-as-siblings, Cassandra, Sydney, Mallory, Cherise, Landon, Rowan, Joel, Julian, Reese and Kian Morin. He was predeceased by Maternal grandmother, Barb Pearson, Paternal grandparents, Ray and Mary Thomas, Uncles, Frankie Thomas and Marion Dickens and nephew Stephan.
