Obituary of Esley C. Miller

Esley C. Miller, age 94, of Gloversville passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.

He was born Gloversville, N.Y. on October 16, 1928 the son of the late Harry and Inez (Conklin) Miller.

On June 17, 1956, Esley married the late Kathleen ‘Kay’ (Blanke) Miller. They have shared 54 years united in marriage. 

Esley served in the U.S Army as a CPL and was a member of the Broadalbin American Legion, Johnstown Moose, as well as a member of the Concordia Singing Society. He was a loving dad and grandfather.  Esley loved animals and enjoyed golfing, playing cards, music, dancing and traveling with his wife Kay. He also enjoyed playing Left Right Center (LCR) with his buddies every Sunday and watching the N.Y Giants football and N.Y. Mets baseball teams. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his son Norm Miller of Gloversville, N.Y. and daughter Dr. Karen Miller of Johnstown, N.Y., four grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Kaylee, Ashlee, as well as 3 great grandsons and 3 granddaughters.

He had a brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Kathy Miller who have also passed. Additional survivors include three nephews, Tim, Clark and Mark Miller.

Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.  A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the funeral home with the Rev. Michelle Clark and Minister Jennifer Miller officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Esley to James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd, Gloversville, NY 12078.
