Obituary of Carl Chamberlain

Carl Chamberlain, age 99, of Gloversville, died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1924, in Black Brook, NY, the son of Louis and Margaret Chamberlain. He served in the US Army during World War II and was a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was employed as a machinist by General Electric in Schenectady for 28 years until his retirement. He was a member of Broadalbin American Legion and the Fulton County DAV.

Carl is survived by his wife of 75 years, Irene H. Chamberlain; five children, Donna Wood (Don), Debra Chamberlain, Dianna Rubey (James), Duane Chamberlain (June) and David Chamberlain; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 am to 12 noon on Monday, September 18th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon with Vicar Melissa Bedell officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
